Gary Lynn Raiburn

Gary Lynn Raiburn – 68

Gary Lynn Raiburn was born on July 18, 1954 in McAlester Oklahoma to Ethridge Lee Raiburn and Allie Mae Raiburn.  Mr. Raiburn died on December 9, 2022 in Lancaster Texas.

Gary grew up in Kiowa, Oklahoma where he attended schooland made many lifelong friends. He graduated from Kiowa High School in 1972.  He enjoyed playing basketball but his first love was music. When he was 4 years old a family member gave him a mandolin and his love for music was born and he quickly picked up the guitar.   He was a member of the Kiowa Cowboy Band in his youth and he worked as a professional musician.  He was an OU Sooner fan and was always up for a good political debate. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethridge and Allie Raiburn, his brothers, Elbert Raiburn, Bobby Raiburn and Larry Raiburn. Sisters, Iona Bowen, Vivian Webb, Nelda Jeffcoat and Ella Raiburn.

He is survived by his wife Sue Weaver Raiburn of the home.  3 daughters, Shonda Holder, Jennifer Chaffin and Angela RaiburnBoyette.  A brother, Glenn Raiburn, sister, Erma McGill, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.  

A celebration of Gary’s life will be scheduled in Kiowa, Oklahoma at a later date.
