Carolyn Jean Pierce
Carolyn Jean Pierce was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on November 2 , 2022 at age 81.
Carolyn was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Holden and Bettie Jewel Davis on January 16, 1941. She was raised in a family of four, with 2 surviving sisters Linda Diane and Sally Faye, and one brother William Holden deceased. After graduating from high school in California, Carolyn served in the Army and at discharge, began a career as a bookkeeper. She was later married to William J. Destro and remained so for over 20 years. Together they had three surviving children: Deborah D. Burrin, William A. T. Destro and Rebeque B. Destro Cady.
Carolyn remarried Alvin Pierce and enjoyed a long marriage. Together during the marriage, they explored the continental USA, visited historical sites, beautiful landscapes, and of course, vacationed with her children, grandchildren and sisters.
Carolyn was a skilled bookkeeper, dancer and homemaker. She loved debating and discussing politics, was an astute history buff, and a huge fan of classic movies. She enjoyed being an ambassador for her home at Mirabella Assisted Living and greeted newcomers with warmth. Her sense of humor and laughter was contagious, and her love for her beloved dog Kiddo was endearing.
